Morgan English graduated from law school and became a full-time artist. This was indeed not the plan. The plan was actually decided 8 months before graduation. She accepted a position to teach law at a University in Germany. At the time she was doing commissions in my spare time for people reaching out to her over social media.
When she started to create my pieces, she admired the lines of contemporary portrait work. Then what became an Instagram, became a website, became her first in-person pop-up show at Juneteenth, became her first residency in the RiNo art district, and became showing her art in one of the biggest galleries in Colorado (all in under 6 months).
Soon after becoming a barred Attorney, she immediately applied to do pro bono work with the Colorado Attorneys for the Arts. She was still teaching in Germany but I wanted to use my degree to start helping people immediately. While in Germany she was teaching internet regulations and soon she became obsessed with artificial intelligence. So, she studied its connection to art law.
When she moved back home she had my second residency at Hazel Art Bar - and unbeknownst to her it was the place that merged her passions for law, technology, and art.
In that neighborhood art bar, she hosted her first free workshop about Artificial Intelligence, Art, and Law. Surrounded by her art pieces, the community, friends, and family, she knew this is what she had to do.
Ultimately, she wants to help people whether the medium is through a portrait or a licensing agreement for her client. Almost every client, panel, and commission opportunity she has have had has been born out of a desire to do the work not because she am getting paid, but because it matters. She currently work as an artist in Denver, Colorado and she is the community Organizer for Concept Art Association where she does advocacy work for concept artists and the creative community.
